Dr. Ellen Collier behaalde haar diploma Arts aan de Universiteit Antwerpen met grootste onderscheiding. Na haar opleiding Tandheelkunde aan de KU Leuven, voltooide zij haar gespecialiseerde opleiding tot Mond-, Kaak- en Aangezichtschirurg in Antwerpen en het Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussel, met een focus op orthognatische heelkunde.
In 2020 werd ze erkend als specialist in Mond-, Kaak- en Aangezichtschirurgie. In januari 2021 werkte ze in het Universitätsspital Basel (Zwitserland) als AO fellow in de maxillofaciale chirurgie, met bijzondere aandacht voor faciale traumatologie.
Van 2020 tot eind 2022 was Dr. Collier staflid bij de afdeling MKA-chirurgie van het AZ Rivierenland, campus Bornem.
Haar bijzondere interesse ligt in de chirurgische en niet-chirurgische behandeling van obstructief slaapapneu. Hiervoor volgde zij een opleiding bij professor Braem (Universiteit Antwerpen) voor het plaatsen van mandibulaire repositieapparaten (MRA), ook wel snurkbeugels genoemd. Daarnaast werkt ze aan een doctoraat over orthognatische heelkunde en de luchtweg.

Dr. Ellen Collier obtained her medical degree from the University of Antwerp with the highest distinction. After completing her dental training at KU Leuven, she pursued specialized training in oral and maxillofacial surgery in Antwerp and at the University Hospital Brussels, with a focus on orthognathic surgery.
In 2020, she was recognized as a specialist in oral and maxillofacial Surgery. In January 2021, she worked at the University Hospital Basel (Switzerland) as an AO fellow in maxillofacial surgery, with a particular focus on facial traumatology.
From 2020 to the end of 2022, Dr. Collier was a staff member in the oral and maxillofacial Surgery department at AZ Rivierenland, Bornem campus.
Her special interest lies in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. To this end, she trained under Professor Braem (University of Antwerp) in the placement of mandibular advancement devices (MAD), also known as anti-snoring appliances. Additionally, she is working on a PhD focusing on orthognathic surgery and the airway.
Currently, Dr. Collier is a full-time staff member, dividing her time between oral and maxillofacial surgery and the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. She is affiliated with UZA, AZ Voorkempen, AZ Monica Antwerp campus, and Heilig Hart Lier. Patients can seek sleep apnea treatment at UZA, Heilig Hart Lier, AZ Voorkempen, and AZ Monica, and oral and maxillofacial surgery treatment at AZ Voorkempen.
